Alot to be THANKFUL for!

Last year we had alot to be thankful for...our families, friends, pets, health, jobs, etc. This year we have all that but we have one more thing that we are especially thankful for...Our little Addison Grace. She has forever changed our lives in the most amazing way...words can never explain the love and laughter that she has brought into our lives in just this short amount of time. She is so special to us and we will forever be thankful for her. Yup, thats right I said it... even when she is a teenager talking back to us or even when she doesnt think were cool anymore. Here are just a few things that I am thankful for in the last 7 weeks...
THE WAY ERIC LOOKS HOLDING HIS BABY GIRL...priceless!!
1. Addison's smile
2. The way she giggles at her own photo
3. Her tiny feet especially when she is kicking away
4. The way she loves taking a bath
5. The way she wraps her arms around me when I put her over my shoulder
6. The way she just stares at you and especially the way she stares at Great Grandma Steffes' photo (we are making sure she knows her Great Grammie):)
7. The way she cuddles
8. Her sweet noises
9. How she just loves ceiling fans
10. Laying on her changing pad...she is just the happiest ever
11. I am thankful for her health
12. She is a miracle form GOD and we are forever thankful for that!

Here are a few sweet moments we caught of Addy!

Changing

So its been a while since I have blogged and Addy just keeps on changing!! I cannot believe that she is going to be 6 weeks already tomorrow. It is crazy how fast time flies. She started to smile on Wednesday Nov 11th but I cant seem to get a picture of it. Everytime she is smiling the camera is too far away or we will try and capture it but it doesn't last long enough ha! She is either wide awake and alert and then passes out seconds later...it is hilarious.

She is still not sleeping through the night but we have transferred her from the bassinet to the pac n play. The next move will be into her crib and I definitely am not looking forward to that move...its going to be hard but I know it will be the best for her. She is still a little love muffin and loves to cuddle and be held. SHe also loves to play on her mat and can finally grab the toys!!

I am not looking forward to going back to work on Nov 30th it is going to be hard but I am so glad that Pap Mike will be down here taking care of her!! That will definitely make it a ton easier. I am posting a few pics of Addy!

Time flies...

Its hard to believe that our baby girl is one month old today, time sure does fly by. When I was pregnant it seemed like a month took forever. The days couldn't go by fast enough. But now they seem to just float by. Half the time I don't even know what day it is ha! She is growing so much and already looks so different.

Each day Eric and I are learning something new and things are getting easier...thank you Lord!!! It is just so funny because we were scared to death to bring her home...we just kept saying to eachother what do we do with her?? But it is true instincts just kick in and it becomes so natural...ok maybe not natural but we did it!! Diaper changes used to take forever and were always so loose but now both Eric and I are pros! I finally learned how to bathe her myself instead of having the both of us...although most nights we do bath time together...its like our bonding time these days ha ha. I love to watch him with her...he is an awesome dad and so helpful! And it is obvious that she adores her daddy. She will definitely have him wrapped around her tiny little finger...oh wait she already does! Riley loves her so much too and has done so well with her. She stares at her when she is crying at 3 in the morning...probably thinking shut the heck up here I am trying to sleep :) She loves to give her kisses and most the time Addy is drenched by the time she is done! Things have definitely changed a ton around here in the last month but we wouldn't change it for anything. And to think that I always said I didn't want kids, boy would that have been a stupid decision. Addy we love you and could not ask for anything more...thank you for making this one of the best months of our lives!!! We cannot wait for many more mile stones with you!

In labor and looking rough...

Right after we checked into the hospital.
On Oct. 5 we got to the hospital at 7:30 and checked in. Of course there was tons of paper work we needed to fill out befor we could get into our room. By the time we got into our room it was after 8pm. I changed my clothes and they took my blood and got the IV started. At 9:40 they gave me my first dose of Cytotec. I was not having any pain at all at this point. The nurses wanted to give me ambien to help me sleep but I refused to take it...I was way too excited to want to sleep but the next day I really wish I would have ha ha. The nurse came back in at 1:40 and gave me the second dose of cytotec. About 30 minutes later my contractions were pretty strong and painful. They were about 8 minutes apart. Around 7:40 Dr. Shin came in and checked me I was beginning to dialate and 80%thinned out. As soon as she was done checking me my water broke...the contractions were so painful after my water broke. My goal was to not get an epidural but that did not happen. The nurse started pitocin to help speed things up. I decided to get the epidural around 10:30...I think I could have kissed the Dr. when he gave me it!!! After that I could not feel a thing, it was awesome.
Eric was awesome throughout everything...he is always so relaxed and supportive. I don't know what I would have done without him. We both tried to get some sleep while we waited since there was nothing wlse to do. My parents got to the hospital around 11 am and it was nice to have them here with us. My mom was going crazy in the gift shop...ha ha!! I got some great gifts...thank you mom!
I was so anxious this day because the nurse said that I would have a baby early afternoon but that was not the case. Throughout the say I was making steady progress so they stopped the pitocin and then around 6:30 ish I stopped dialating at 8cm. I ended up getting a fever and so they had to give me antibiotics and they started pitocin again. When I got to 9cm the nurse had me start pushing just to try and get things going. I pushed for about an hour. My Dr. got to the hospital at 8pm and I continued to push for almost an hour. It seemed like when Dr. Shin arrived everything happened so fast. At 8:58pm on Oct 6th Addison Grace Eparvier came into this world. She was 6lbs 10 oz and 18.5 inches long.
Addy you looked just like daddy when you came out! We were completely in love with you...words can never explain how we felt. We just stared at you and could not believe that you were finally here with us. We promise to love you and give you the best life ever!!

Addy's first play date!!

Today Addy and I went over to my friend Lori's house for a "playdate". It was more for us...we had fun just sharing things about our babies and just talking. Lori had her baby on August 25th 2009 and she was born premature...but was perfect and did not have to stay in the hospital at all :) Anna Claire was awake and alert the entire time while little Addison slept the entire time...ha ha! We tried to get her to wake up for a few pictures but she really was not having it. It was great to have lunch and interact with another adult...I picked up Chick-fil-A and it was delicious...I got the chicken noodle soup (thank you Tanna)!!!

Anyway, one thing that really surprises me everytime is how long it takes to actually get out the door. When it was just me I could just up and go whenever I pleased but now it takes me like 2 hours to get both of us ready, pack everything we need, and get in the car. I hate to be late and so I get a little stressed but I know the more we go out the easier it will be...right??
Ok and the last thing is when does this weight come off?? I have lost everything but 7 pounds but my stomach just looks gross seriously. I mean it was totally worth it but I am ready for it to be gone. I need help...does anyone have any tips. The Dr. said I could work out in 6 weeks and so I only have 2 more weeks until I can go to the gym and I cannot wait.
Here are some pictures of Anna Claire and Addison meeting for the first time!! Looks like they were having a blast huh?!?!

Oh how life has changed!!!

It has been 3 weeks and 5 days since we had our sweet baby girl and oh how life has changed...for the better!!! I cannot explain how in love I am with our baby...she is absolutely perfect. She is really a good baby, we were definitely blessed from above thats for sure. We took her to the Dr. on October 9 and she was 19 inches long and weighed 6lbs 4oz and then we took her back on October 26th and she was 21inches and 8lbs 1oz...so she is definitely getting bigger each day. The dr could not believe how strong she is...he said it was a little creepy ha ha!! She loves to lay on our chests and I just love that...she is such a cuddle muffin with her little butt in the air, she gets startled easily but at the same time she can sleep through anything. The other day I put her in the baby bjorn while she was sleeping and I just vacuumed away...it was awesome! She loves to ride in the car, she always falls asleep immediately. We had to drive back to MI because Erics Grandma passed away and she slept the entire 13 hours there and back...not even one peep from her. It was so nice that everyone got to meet her so soon because we were not planning on going home for a while. She loved meeting all her family! She loves to sleep with her arms over her head or in the air...I think it is adorable. Riley thinks that she knows how to throw the ball and just doesn't understand that she cant yet...it is super cute. She loves to take a bath...we give her one every night. So far she sleeps a ton, usually goes to sleep at 11 wakes up at 2:30 and 4:45 and then again at 7 so we are getting lots of sleep. Eric and I are just so thankful for Addy and we are completely in love!!! Here are a few pics of our Addy Grace!
